The British Heart Foundation estimates that 7 million people in the UK are living with heart and circulatory diseases. This number is expected to rise due to:
- An increasing population
- Improvements in healthcare that enable people increased survival rates
According to the British Heart Foundation, heart and circulatory diseases cause a quarter of all deaths in the UK or over 150,000 deaths a year, 420 people a day or one death every 3 minutes.
